Why start Private Pilot training with the Robinson R44?
The Robinson R44 simply maximizes the Private Pilot Certification time because it is a stable and easier helicopter to learn in.
Its turbine counterpart, the R66, is used for Army Training Robinson R66 for US Army initial pilot helicopter training
No matter what your goals are, the Robinson R44 is the most useful helicopter to learn!
Most initial jobs are with companies that own R44s. The R44 is the best selling helicopter since 1999 means there are R44s everywhere in the world.
The R44 prepares pilots for careers in many other highly used counter clockwise rotating helicopter rotor systems like the Bell 206 and Bell 407.
Allowing 3 passengers, the R44 is a common choice for a privately owned family helicopter.
